Welcome Flat Hut, Copland Track 

This hut doesn’t just look like a mansion, it even has the amenities of one! Here you’ll find a natural hot pool nearby and a private four person room available to book. The water from the pools bubbles out of the ground, keeping the muddy-bottomed bathing pond at a balmy 38°C. Perfect for relaxing neck-deep after the (relatively easy) seven-hour hike in from the car park. This hut tends to get pretty busy so bookings are essential!

Getting there 🚗
Access is off SH6, 26km south of Fox Glacier. The turn-off to the car park is well signposted on the northern side of the Karangarua River bridge.
