EMILY

Our superstar owner and operator with a passion for everything outdoors! Emily has been living and exploring in the Nelson Tasman for over 15 years and knows the region like the back of her hand.

She's a real entrepreneur and a big picture thinker, with epic plans for MD Outdoors (find out more about our vision). Emily really makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the store, and will go the extra mile to support you on your adventures!

You'll find her on the top of mountain peaks, pushing herself with one challenge after the next, doing push ups in the shop and trying out new adventure sports!

JO

Jo fell in love with Nelson for the mountains, water and outdoor adventures on our doorstep! Jo brings a wealth of knowledge from her own experiences working in the outdoors; running her own paddle boarding business to hosting women’s adventure trips across Europe to teaching SUP at Moana!

She's super passionate about the incredible wellbeing benefits that nature and adventure provides, and pushing herself outside of her comfort zone! When she’s not with us, you’ll find her out coaching on the water or on as many multi-day tramps and paddles as possible in our awesome region!

Meet

KATIE

Katie grew up exploring Aotearoa, spending time tramping, camping, and discovering wild places with her family. She has a passion for the connection between people and nature and the incredible well-being and healing benefits that come from spending time outside.

When she's not with us, you'll usually find her at the beach, surfing, having a refreshing dip in river or the ocean, practising yoga, or heading off to explore the remote corners of our beautiful region!

BEAU

Without a doubt, the favourite member of our team (and our only boy) is Emily's dog, Beau! He gives the friendliest hellos to all our customers (humans and furry friends) and the best cuddles. You will usually find him napping on the shop sofa, running amuck down at the dog beach in Nelson, or up the top of one of our dog friendly trails in the region rocking our dogwear.
