Camping Stove & Pot Hire

Hire quality hiking and camping equipment for your next outdoor adventure across Nelson Tasman and beyond.

Don't need a full gear hire package? No problem! At MD Outdoors, you can hire individual pieces of hiking and camping equipment, whether you need a lightweight tent, sleeping bag, hiking pack or just a few extras to complete your setup.

Our stove range is a MSR Pocket Rocket and Sea to Summit light weight pot or a Jetboil. Prices listed per night.

Specific models are subject to availability. We'll help you choose suitable equipment for your trip.

Pick-Up, Returns & Pricing

Our gear hire is charged per night, based on the number of nights you have the equipment.

• Pick-up: Collect your gear on your selected pick-up date.
• Return: Return your gear before the shop closes on your selected return date.
• Hire charges: You pay for each night you have the gear.
• Minimum hire: One night.
• Late charges: Will apply if you bring it back late without extending your booking. 

For example: Collect your gear on Friday and return it on Sunday within our open hours  = 2 nights of hire.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older to rent.
• A signed rental agreement is required.
• Equipment must be returned clean, dry and in good condition.
• Lost or damaged equipment may incur repair or replacement costs.
• Hirers must ensure they know how to use the equipment safely.

How It Works

1. Reserve Online: Select the equipment you need, choose your hire dates and complete your booking.
2. Collect Your Gear: Pick up from MD Outdoors in Nelson or Wakefield during our opening hours. We'll help you check the fit and familiarise yourself with the equipment.
3. Enjoy Your Adventure: Head outdoors with quality gear ready for your trip!
4. Return Your Gear: Drop your equipment back at your selected MD Outdoors store  on your return date, during opening hours.

We recommend booking online to ensure availability, particularly during the busy summer hiking season. Walk-in hire may be available, but we cannot guarantee equipment availability at both stores.
